History
Patrick Elementary School commenced operations in August 2007, joining the esteemed Mill Creek Cluster. With 53 classrooms, the newly opened facility proudly welcomed over 800 students from kindergarten to fifth grade in its inaugural year.
Service has been a defining characteristic of the school since its inception. With a particular emphasis on public service. Named in honor of Bobby Patrick, a man renowned for his unwavering dedication to aiding those in dire circumstances, the school embodies his spirit of valor, integrity, and sacrifice. Known among his peers as courageous, compassionate, and a true leader, Mr. Patrick’s legacy extends beyond his role as a firefighter.
Having served as a firefighter and emergency medical technician for 24 years, Mr. Patrick dedicated 15 years to the Gwinnett County Fire Department and prior to that, served in the Rome, Georgia, Fire Department. Recognized for his outstanding contributions, he received numerous awards, including eight Letters of Commendation and several Unit Citation Awards. Mr. Patrick’s expertise extended to training personnel in fire hose techniques and his involvement in specialized rescue teams.
Before his firefighting career, Mr. Patrick taught Industrial Arts in the Polk County School System and was the owner of B P Builders, Inc., constructing custom homes across multiple counties.
Patrick Elementary School stands as a tribute to Bobby Patrick’s legacy, fostering a culture of service, leadership, and excellence in education.
