OVERVIEW

Established in 1975, Fairington Elementary School stands as one of the 83 elementary institutions within the DeKalb County School System. Nestled in the Lithonia community of southeast DeKalb, our school boasts a dedicated team of administrators, counselors, teachers, specialists, and support personnel committed to serving our students.

In partnership with our staff, parents, and community, the mission of Fairington Elementary is to provide educational opportunities that equip students with the skills and knowledge to excel as college and career-ready citizens in an increasingly interconnected world.

UNIQUE ASSETS

Fairington Elementary has garnered recognition, including a notable Third place in the 2004 Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Competition.
Our Teacher-Student Mentoring Program, facilitated by the Counseling Department, pairs students with staff members to foster positive behavior and academic growth.
The 25 Book Campaign promotes reading and vocabulary development by encouraging students to read 25 books annually.
We are proud to collaborate with Kroger Supermarket as a Partner in Education, with additional support from our “friends of Fairington” – Publix Supermarket and Wal-Mart Superstore – who generously offer their time and expertise as needed.
