Sprayberry High School, situated in Marietta, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, serves as a comprehensive senior high school for grades 9-12, boasting an enrollment of approximately 1700 students. Originally established in 1952 on Cobb Parkway, the school relocated to its current site at 2525 Sandy Plains Road in 1973. A point of pride for Sprayberry is its reflection of Cobb County’s diversity, drawing students from various ethnic backgrounds, socio-economic levels, and academic capabilities.
Our achievements are underscored by consistently strong performances on standardized tests such as the SAT, Georgia High School Graduation Test, and State End-of-Course Tests. Maintaining Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) annually since its inception, Sprayberry was honored as a Georgia School of Excellence in 2011. Moreover, we received a prestigious Platinum Level Award from the Governor’s Office, a distinction reserved for schools demonstrating both exceptional achievement and significant gains.
Recognized by prominent publications including Atlanta Magazine, Newsweek, and the Washington Post, Sprayberry has earned acclaim as one of the premier high schools in the city and the nation.

In 2020, Sprayberry achieved national recognition when US News & World Report included it in their prestigious list of America’s Best High Schools. Among 24,000 public high schools reviewed, Sprayberry ranked among the top 17%, placing it in esteemed company. The evaluation considered six key factors: College Readiness, Math & Reading Proficiency, Math & Reading Performance, Underserved Student Performance, College Curriculum Breadth, and Graduation Rate.
Additionally, Niche, in their 2020 rankings of over 24,000 schools nationwide, positioned Sprayberry among the top 60 schools in Georgia. Notably, Sprayberry claimed the distinction of being the 4th most diverse public high school in the state. Niche’s assessment encompasses various aspects such as academics, teacher quality, school resources, student life, and feedback from both students and parents.
