Lilburn was originally a railroad stop on the Seaboard Air Line Railway and was known as “McDaniel.” It was later renamed “Lilburn” in honor of the general superintendent of the railroad, Lilburn Trigg Myers. The city has a rich history dating back to the 19th century.
