Austin elementary school – Austin PTO strives to actualize every child’s potential by fostering engagement and empowerment within families and communities, advocating for the welfare of all children.

The Austin Foundation is dedicated to enriching educational programs and opportunities for students, as well as supporting the school in its commitment to delivering a premier education.

Austin’s Principal Advisory Council, established under the A+ Education Reform Act of 2000, serves as a platform for offering guidance, suggestions, and support to the school’s principal and local board of education.

Registration procedures at all schools and centers will be conducted promptly to facilitate the enrollment of both new and returning students.

Austin Elementary School – What is a Digital Dreamer?

Digital Dreamers (DD) is a comprehensive technology program for the DeKalb County School District (DCSD). The program illustrates the district’s persistent efforts to bridge the digital divide by providing laptops and wireless access devices to our students, staff and schools. By reaching EVERY student and teacher in the district, the Digital Dreamers initiative continues to build on the district’s vision of increasing students’ technological footprint and preparing them to be globally competitive citizens – both now and in the future.

Austin Elementary School – GIFTED ELIGIBILITY

The DeKalb County School District (DCSD) employs the Northwest Evaluation Association Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) as the primary assessment tool for the initial screening of gifted eligibility each academic year for students in grades K-10. Students who achieve scores of > 90% RT (Reading Total) or > 90% MT (Math Total) on the nationally norm-referenced MAP assessment will undergo further formal evaluations for gifted identification. Although the MAP assessment is administered three times annually, the gifted eligibility evaluation period spans from August to September for currently enrolled K-10 students and from December to February for currently enrolled K-2 students and new enrollees.
