About Independence High School

Independence High School stands as North Fulton County’s non-traditional school of choice. Our instructional approach follows a semester plan and utilizes a Blended Learning format to offer students a flexible and supportive educational experience. Blended Learning combines online content delivery and instruction with traditional classroom methods. This approach grants students greater autonomy over the timing, location, pathway, and pace of their learning through online resources. Simultaneously, our supervised, face-to-face classroom sessions provide students with personalized attention and meaningful connections to facilitate their progress.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., stands as the pioneering intercollegiate historically Black Greek Letter organization. Founded on December 4, 1906, by seven visionary men at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
Dedicated to defending the rights and promoting the responsibilities of young men and communities, Alpha Phi Alpha embodies service and leadership.
The Tau Gamma Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., was chartered on July 17, 2021.”

Mission:

Our mission is to educate students, youth, and adults through various programs aimed at fostering growth and development in the Sandy Springs, Roswell, and Alpharetta communities.
The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Tau Gamma Lambda Chapter, has partnered with Independence High School to advance both fraternity programs and student initiatives. Our programs include Financial Literacy, Business Networking Tips, Business Dress for Success, Leadership, Vote Less People is a Hopeless People, Go to High School Go to College, Entrepreneurship, and the Think Tank.
We extend our gratitude to Mrs. Taylor and Independence High School for welcoming us. We eagerly anticipate a fruitful partnership.
